Loose Women’s Andrea McLean reveals the real reason she ended first marriage – and it’s more shocking than Brangelina split
AS the world continues to discuss Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s split, a debate on the divorce on Loose Women has prompted fresh heartache for panellist Andrea McLean.
While airing their thoughts on the famous couple, the 46-year-old, who later revealed she's taking a month off the show to have a hysterectomy, said it had brought back all the emotion of her split from first husband Nick Green in 2005.
Starting the debate, Linda Robson said: “At the end of the day, they’re just like anyone else… they’re human beings.
“I always say it’s the mundane things that hold a couple together.”
However, Andrea, who has been divorced twice, didn’t agree with her statement.
The TV star responded: “It’s the mundane that can break you apart too.
“The moment I knew my first marriage was over was when he couldn’t make cauliflower cheese. I just thought: ‘I can’t do this anymore.' ”
Andrea split from her first husband Nick Green in 2005 after five years marriage.
She later wed Steve Toms in 2009 and filed for divorce in 2011.
Talking about the breakdown of her second marriage in 2012, Andrea admitted: “Steve and I had grown apart and we both knew it. We’d tried so many times to make it work, but it was hopeless.
“We held it together over Christmas for the kids but then on Boxing Day I took them to stay with my parents – and that was the end.
“I’m still in shock. When I hear myself talking about ‘my first marriage breakdown’ then ‘this time round’ the words are like a stab in the heart.
"Because I simply can’t believe I’m in this position again.
"People think I’m Snow White... the most boring person in the world! I’ve only ever slept with two men and I married them both."
Thankfully the star has since found happiness and is dating businessman partner Nick Feeney.
She recently told HELLO: "I never thought I'd feel like this again, that I'd fall in love and get the chance to start a new life."
