BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty SLAMS Twitter troll who brands co-host Carol Kirkwood a ‘RIDICULOUS PARASITE’
BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty swiftly hit back at a vile online troll who branded the show's weather girl Carol Kirkwood a " RIDICULOUS PARASITE".
Today, she juggled presenting with battling keyboard warriors and took to Twitter while off-camera to respond to the vicious comments of a viewer who claimed the show was "so much better" with "parasite" Carol absent.
The bubbly Scot was enjoying a day off as Matt Taylor gave telly fans their daily update.
The troll slammed Strictly star Carol and her co-hosts and wrote: "@BBCBreakfast is so much better without that ridiculous parasite @carolkirkwood!"
Continuing his onslaught, he called for Naga and co to be axed, adding: "Get rid of @BBCNaga @sallynugent and @LouiseMensch too."
Yet during a break away from the lens, Naga immediately hit back at the onslaught.
Sticking up for her on-screen mate, she also pointed out his error which saw him tag a politician instead of BBC journalist Louise Minchin, and wrote: "Since when did @LouiseMensch present with us "parasites"? You Twit. BLOCKED."
Naga's followers were quick to back her response to the internet bully.
One wrote: "Out of order comments, love the breakfast team, go Naga top lady xx," while another added: "How polite Naga, ultimate professional."
Another added: "Game set and match Naga!! deep breaths girl" while another raged: "Would have called him more than a Twit!".
One of her fans asked if all of the TV team were subject to the verbal abuse, to which she directly replied: "I'm sure none of us escape them ;)."
Meanwhile Naga will soon be following in Carol's footsteps by starring in Strictly Come Dancing, which kicks off on BBC One this weekend.
Londoner Naga, 41, has been paired with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev, who previously won the show with Caroline Flack.
Speaking about her colleagues she said “I’ve known Chris Hollins and will never forget his wonderful Charleston.
“There’s Susanna obviously – she was amazing. I loved her dramatic dances."
