Davina was appearing on Jonathan Ross’s ITV show, which airs this Saturday night, and told her host that she was always worried there could be a fatality.

When asked if there was a possibility someone could die, she said: “Yeah. It’s a bit like Don’t Try This At Home.”

She added: “I worry about that as well. We had people doing extraordinary challenges.

“All I can say is that they are given the best care and they are taught by the best teachers and are love-bombed for the entire time they are there. And we are not forcing them to do anything.”

But she said she couldn’t believe that anyone would want to take part after seven contestants got injured in the last series.

She said: “I didn’t think we’d be able to get anybody on it [after all the injuries] but people still want to do it, which is great.

"We had a load of injuries on the first series and when we flew back, it was like an air ambulance.”

But viewers won’t be seeing Davina hitting the slopes as she explained: “ I’m not allowed. They can’t have the presenter on crutches.”

During the last series, seven stars were forced to withdraw from the show due to serious injury including Sarah Harding, Tina Hobley, Beth Tweddle, Heather Mills, Linford Christie and Made In Chelsea’s Mark Francis.

Former Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington also had to quit after she dislocated her shoulder and she warned those thinking of signing up to get some training in first.

Speaking to the Sun, she said: “It’s exciting but my advice is to definitely take some lessons.

“I was a total beginner and I wish I’d done more ski lessons or had a ski holiday to make myself better.”
