‘She’s in denial’ Emmerdale star Laura Norton says Kerry can’t believe she’s pregnant after her drunken fling
- Will Kerry come clean to Dan?
- Megan discovers the truth about 'jet-set' Frank
- Charity gets it on with Ross
- Paddy tells Rhona he wants a divorce
Try as she might to convince herself that what appears to be morning sickness might just be some harmless stomach bug, when you’re as unlucky as Kerry there’s probably only one result a pregnancy test will deliver – especially when a baby could be the outcome of that drunken one-off afternoon of passion with Ross.
“It’s classic Kerry,” admits Laura Norton, who plays her. “At first she’s in denial. She puts it down to her diabetes or something she’s eaten.
But then she keeps being sick and realises something doesn’t feel right. She’s absolutely gutted when the test comes back positive.”
Her first instinct is to come clean to Dan.
This whole mess has only happened because she was trying to
get back at him for that foolish snog he had with Nicola, but it looked like they’d weathered that storm.
“The last thing she wants is to lose Dan,” says Laura.
“She knows that he’s the best thing to ever happen to her. She’s got someone who loves her for exactly who she is with all of her flaws.
"But she tried to hurt him because she thought he was the one man who would never do what every other man has always done to her. Now she wants to tell him because she just can’t take the guilt.”
Typically, Ross tries to cover his back and dissuade her from ’fessing up, but she can’t keep it to herself and confides in Joanie.
“Kerry tells Joanie with much trepidation because she thinks she’s going to get a telling-off,” says Laura.
“But she gets the complete opposite. Joanie is really supportive and tries to help her come up with a solution. Of course, nothing ever goes right for Kerry so, knowing her luck, this’ll probably not be Dan’s baby, it’ll be Ross’.”
The question is: will she keep the baby without knowing who the daddy is?
CHARITY GETS HER MAN
Ross is like catnip to the ladies of the village lately – first Kerry, now Charity. After her recent falling-out with Cain, Charity decides the best way to move things along is to do a bit of dognapping with her other handyman.
Naturally, it all goes wrong and it’s not long before Ross and Charity are stuck up a climbing frame and Charity reveals she’s thinking of leaving –and taking their son Moses with her.
But it’s a short step from shouting to snogging, though when Cain shows up, Charity pulls away.
When she sees Cain’s reaction, it looks like another ruse to make him jealous has worked again – a bit of aggro followed by a passionate snog and Cain is finally ready to go public with Charity!
FRANK’S LIE EXPOSED
Frank Clayton is a right old rogue. When Megan finally discovers after their night together that he’s not really a jet-setter who’s just returned from Australia – as he claimed – but actually an ex-con who once upon a time would have been shipped off to Oz, she’s not best pleased and starts having serious doubts about their tryst.
Still, that doesn’t seem to stop him from showing up at The Woolpack for a second date.
The question is: will Megan be up for it or is she completely done with him after what she’s found out? Especially when he puts his foot in it again on the day she’s mourning Robbie’s death.
We’d really love to see you talk your way out of that one, Frank…
