Justin Bieber set to launch record label to find his own superstar protégé
The superstar is currently in talks with Universal in an attempt to become music mogul at finding the next big thing
IF it were not for a chance meeting with USHER, the world may never have heard of JUSTIN BIEBER.
At the age of 15 the baby-faced Canadian signed his first record deal after bumping into the US singer in a car park and offering to audition for him on the spot.
Now Justin, is hoping history will repeat itself by making his own bid to find pop’s next big superstar.
I can reveal the singer is in discussions to launch his very own record label.
Justin is working with his manager SCOOTER BRAUN and his label Universal to set up a new company where he can sign his own talent and become a millionaire music mogul in his own right.
I’m told he is already on the hunt for female artists as well as a band.
A music source revealed: “Justin, Scooter and their lawyers are working on creating their own record label in partnership with Universal where Justin will sign his own artists.
“He was signed and discovered by Usher and (US music mogul) LA REID as a teen and knows that they have made a fortune from his work.
“With the help of Scooter, he wants to create a label which would allow him to pick up performers that he believes in and do for them what Usher did for him.
“He doesn’t feel as though he is truly the captain of the ship under the terms of his current contract with Universal, so he wants to gain more power and use his resources to make megastars from unknown talent. He is on the hunt for female artists and is keen to form a group too.
“He wants to make sure he is still a big player in the music industry even when his own music career starts to die down.”
Luckily for Justin he has a solid track record of discovering new artists.
In 2012, the singer bagged fellow Canadian CARLY RAE JEPSEN a deal on Scooter’s label Schoolboy Records after hearing her song Call Me Maybe on Canadian radio while washing the dishes at his mum’s house.
The track went on to become the best-selling single in the world that year after flogging more than 18million copies.
I’m told Biebs has already been taking advice from pal DRAKE, who runs his own label OVO Sound.
And there are plenty of other famous friends he can call on too, as the likes of ED SHEERAN, KANYE WEST and KATY PERRY have all launched their own music firms in recent years.
At this rate every pop star on the planet will turn up on stage carrying a briefcase.

Luckily, Gaga – who is hotly rumoured to be unveiled on Sunday as the Super Bowl’s half-time performer – didn’t reveal John’s hairy chest as she put her braless spin on the iconic outfit from the Seventies movie, below.
Perhaps the singer was out toasting her £4million splurge on the late FRANK ZAPPA’s Hollywood Hills estate, making her the first non-family member to own the plush home.
Gaga’s new pad has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
There’ll be plenty of room to bust some moves in there.
Braless Kendall Jenner is freeing the nipple
KENDALL JENNER has been keeping her word about Freeing The Nipple.
There wasn’t a bra in sight as the model partied with sister KYLIE at Catch in Hollywood on Thursday.
Kendall declared this week she was all about going braless – and her influence has clearly rubbed off on her younger sibling, who also ditched her bra for their night on the town.
She decided trousers weren’t needed either, showing off her legs in a tiny pair of denim hot-pants.
They were out to celebrate their pal Jordyn Woods’ birthday along with Kylie’s rapper boyfriend TYGA.
Any less clothing and Kendall would have been in her birthday suit.
Simon wants Cruz control
He told me: “I met them when they were younger and I have to say they are really incredible kids.
“They could have been really spoilt but they weren’t – they were really funny when they came down to one of the shows. I know the Beckhams get criticised for being in the public eye but if you’re in the public eye your kids are going to be too.”
On the prospect of signing Cruz to his label, he added hopefully: “Get him in and we’ll sign him.”
But Simon has competition. I revealed in April that Cruz had caught the eye of American talent manager SCOOTER BRAUN, who was responsible for discovering JUSTIN BIEBER.

Makeover for Abi Clarke
FORMER Towie star ABI CLARKE is so desperate to return to the ITVBe show she is having a full body makeover.
Abi is planning a boob job, liposuction and the removal of her two bottom ribs.
The drastic action is a bid to keep up with younger cast members – even though she’s only 25.
Priest’s daughter Abi joined the show in 2013 and stayed for three series before being let go by Towie bosses.
A source said of Abi’s plans: “She wants her body to pop out and be recognisable.”
Hopefully she negotiates a decent pay packet to pay for all that surgery.

CALVIN HARRIS’ first major movie role was scuppered — by the same bosses who cast him.
The DJ made his debut Hollywood appearance last summer with a cameo in the Entourage film.
But the Scot has now revealed he had originally signed up for a speaking part in the flick, only for the producers to confess they had forgotten to sign the right forms.
He explained: “I was supposed to have something else. But there is this form you need to do to be an actor. They didn’t have the form so I couldn’t speak.
“I couldn’t speak because it’s an insurance risk for me to open my mouth in public, on the set of a movie.
“I just had to hold up a briefcase. I was like, ‘OK’.”
The Oscar is on its way.

DAKOTA – the voice behind JONAS BLUE’s Fast Car – has released her new single, Long Hot Summer.
The track has received almost a million streams so far. Her debut album, out next year, will be one to listen out for.

ADELE has had almost as many injuries and ailments on her world tour as she’s had hits.
She cancelled a show in August due to illness then complained of a mosquito allergy. Now she’s suffered a serious burn from a band she hoped would repel the insects.
Showing a bandage on her leg, she told the crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday: “I have a first-degree chemical burn.
“I’m going to take them down, the company. They don’t even work. A chemical burn? They were claiming to be organic and natural. My ass.”
Adele’s been in the wars so much her sick note may need more pages by the end of her 107-date tour.
