Drama ensues in Emmerdale as pregnant Kerry Wyatt visits an abortion clinic
As one thing after another goes wrong, is something trying to tell her to keep the baby
GUILTY Kerry Wyatt makes the painstaking decision to have a termination, but getting to the clinic may be easier said than done.
Wracked with guilt following her night of passion with Ross Barton, Kerry (Laura Norton) is convinced that the baby must be his and not her fiancé’s Dan Spencer.
She resolves to make an appointment with an abortion clinic and rather than tell him the truth, Kerry tells Dan (Liam Fox) that she is going for a wedding dress fitting.
Frustrated when the camper van Hetty won’t start, she calls Dan but he’s with an irate customer and cancels her call.
Desperate, Kerry then goes into the garage and borrows a car.
Outside the clinic, Kerry parks on double yellow lines outside the clinic and dashes in just as a parking attendant appears on the scene.
How is she going to explain this one away?
Lamenting her character’s situation, Laura said: "She's absolutely gutted when the test result is positive. It's basically made her realise that she can't do what she wants to do, which is bury her head in the sand and lie to Dan.
"Kerry thinks to herself that she deserves it and she's being punished for the fact that she's done a bad thing and she's lying about it.”
She continued: "Kerry is convinced that - because of the way her life turns out and everything bad happens to her - there's absolutely no way this baby is going to be Dan's.

"She just knows that she has to get rid of it, because she sees it as a problem in her relationship. Kerry think it's the only decision she can make.
"Deep down inside it's sad for Kerry. After everything she's been through with Amy and being a terrible mother to her, she probably feels like this could be her chance to have another go at this.
"But she shuts down any emotional connection to this, because she just needs not to be pregnant. She needs for this not to be happening.”
Admitting that there could be the possibility of Kerry and Dan splitting up should the truth come out, she said: "I'd be gutted if they do break up, because it's a relationship that everybody loves.
"They're both flawed and Dan has been the best thing that's ever happened to her. She'd be absolutely devastated and I think that would lead to Kerry going off the rails.
"As an actress I love exploring that side of her, though, because so many of us as human beings aren't perfect. It's so interesting to play somebody who's that complex. It's nice to portray that, as much as it's heartbreaking!"
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday October 6 at 8pm on ITV.
