Watch Kate Garraway get covered in gunge at Beano website launch party
The Good Morning Britain host seemed less than impressed after getting covered in yellow slime
TV star Kate Garraway proved she is a real sport when she agreed to make her kids’ dream come true of seeing her get gunged.
The 49-year-year-old was attending the launch party for the new Beano website in London today (September 25) with her two children Darcey and William in-tow.
Speaking to the camera, she explained: “My kids have put me up to this, they seem alarmingly keen that I should get covered in slimy yellow gunge which is a bit of a worry.
“I’m not so keen, very worried about what it’s going to do for my blowdry – probably not very good things! Bit I will give it a go anyway.”
As her daughter pulled the cord releasing the gunge, the broadcaster can be heard shrieking as she is covered by the gooey liquid.

With her hair well and truly beyond help, she said of her experience afterwards: “Well I think it’s safe to say that was ‘proper gunged’. I kind of imagined that it might be a little like fake gunge, like I wouldn’t actually get covered, but no this is full on gunging.
“[It was] a lot colder, a lot nastier, a lot more slimey than I imagined.”
She concluded: “I’ve been properly Beano’d now.”
Other celebrities in attendance at the bash for the title featuring beloved characters such as Dennis The Menace and Gnasher included Helen Lederer, Donna Air, Angela Griffith and Amanda Lamb.
Guests both young and old were treated to a full-on Beano experience including the chance to explore Dennis' bedroom, arts and crafts including painting on the wall, plus a human catapult.
They also tucked into yummy freshly made popcorn and hotdogs.
