SIMON Cowell sensationally had them lose their seat at during the X Factor’s Six Chair Challenge, branding them “five boring boys”, but now Yes Lad are back as wildcards and have revealed their “frustration” at the top judge finding them dull and will do anything to prove they’re not – even dressing in drag.

Last night the boys were taken on an emotional rollercoaster when Louis Walsh initially awarded them a place in judges’ houses, meaning glittering duo Otavio and Bradley got the boot, only to have Simon, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne question his decision, resulting in a tearful Yes Lad being told to go home.

However, their fortunes later took another turn as last night’s live Xtra Factor show revealed that Sharon had picked the boys who hail from the North West to re-join the competition.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online Joel, Cian, Sonny, Lewis and Luke admitted they had a tough job ahead of them to prove to Simon that they deserve to be back on The X Factor.

“At first Louis really liked us and had been really supportive, then Simon just gave him the look as if to say ‘what the hell’ and that were it,” said Luke.

“Simon made the comment that we were boring, but we feel throughout the competition he never gave us a chance to show him what we can do, he’s almost made his mind up about us before we had a chance to prove ourselves and when we were kicked out, that was something that we were initially really frustrated about.

“Simon basically is the X Factor and he’s been responsible for so many peoples’ careers so we really want to impress him, but now we’ve been brought back we have the opportunity to show him we’re not boring and we do deserve to be here.”

And seeing as Simon preferred to have drag loving duo Otavio and Bradley on the show over them, Yes Lad have a plan to impress him.

“Maybe do drag or something, do a Bradley and Otavio,” said Cian.

“Don’t get us wrong their lovely lads but obviously they visually made more of an impact, so maybe we should wear tight dresses and stilettos.”

Speaking of their styling for the Six Chair Challenge which consisted of black hoodies and trousers, the boys admit they were on a tight budget.

“We thought it was pretty cool, it’s like where we’re from we’re all from Manchester and it suits the mood of the song. We all had a budget of 20 quid too,” explains Cian.

“That was one of the things that were kept out of the edit, one of the comments Simon made was that he said we were old fashioned and he didn’t like what we were wearing.”
