Strictly’s Gleb Savchenko would wager money that Giovanni Pernice will get with Laura Whitmore
Gleb is convinced the Irish presenter will hook up with Giovanni
LAURA Whitmore and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice had plenty of chemistry during their first Strictly Come Dancing performance last weekend and now Gleb Savchenko is convinced they're going to hook up off stage.
The former professional dancer said he would wager money on the pair getting together after Giovanni's relationship with Georgia May Foote broke down after eight months.
Gleb appeared on Strictly for the first time last time last year and despite finishing in fifth place, he has decided to move across the pond to Dancing With The Stars in the US.
However, despite only briefly knowing Giovanni, it didn't stop him from commenting on his love life.
The Russian hunk told Star magazine that he knew Giovanni and Georgia would never last and that the same thing will happen with MTV presenter Laura.
He said: "I’m not shocked. He’s young and he’s Italian. You know what Italians are like!
"They were never going to get married, have kids and live happily ever after.
"I bet you £100 Giovanni will get with Laura this year. And next season I’ll bet you another £100 he will get with his new partner!"
RELATED STORIES
Laura and Giovanni were the first duo to take to the floor on the first episode of the series and their sexy performance of the cha cha cha to Venus was a hit with the judges and viewers at home.
Laura showed off her sensational figure in a white fringed dress which featured a low cut back with gold leaf detailing across the chest.
With her blonde hair plaited in an up do, the 31-year-old grinned from ear to ear as she busted out her moves, and got a good response from the judges when she had finished.
Craig Revel Horwood told her: “You looked great darling” but pointed out she had been a bit “unstable” at points in the routine.
He said: "The whole thing was danced on flexed knees. I thought the whole thing was a little unstable.”
Len Goodman added: "Well, I must say, what a lovely start to the show. A lovely amount of cha cha content which I appreciate."
Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 18.20pm on BBC One.
