The Fury actor was due to make an appearance at Terrence Malik’s 30-years-in-the-making IMAX film Voyage of Time: Life’s Journey, which he stars in, but revealed he intended to focus on his "family situation" instead.
Speaking exclusively to Access Hollywood, he said: “Terrence’s Voyage of Time is an incredibly beautiful and unique experiential IMAX film for children and families chronicling the birth of time.
“I’m very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I’m currently focused on my family situation and don’t want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see.”
There has been much controversy since the split, including rumours of an affair with his co-star and abuse allegations.
Last week Brad Pitt was reported to have begged his wife to see his children.
Angelina is blocking the actor from visiting their six children while the FBI continue an investigation into alleged child abuse.
The couple had been together for 12 years, and married for two, before announcing their split.
