Kit Harington, Sophie Turner and Game of Thrones cast resume filming in Northern Ireland after record-breaking Emmys sweep
Actors snapped on set as they shoot series seven of hit fantasy
THE Game of Thrones cast resumed filming in Northern Ireland this week after sweeping the board at the 2016 Emmys.
The HBO fantasy's key players have been spotted on set as they shoot the penultimate series, series seven.
Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, was seen preparing to film a major battle scene, leaving his dressing room in a billowing grey top and black trousers held up by suspenders.
His famous dark curls were knotted at the back of his head, and he carried what appeared to be a script in one hand.
Aidan Gillen, who plays Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish, was also spotted, but not in costume.
The Irish actor wore a pair of loose black trousers and a navy T-shirt reading "Correctional Film School" — hardly a typical Littlefinger outfit.
Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, was photographed in a similar outfit to Kit's, while Daniel Portman, who plays Pod, appeared to be half in costume, wearing baggy brown trousers and a black T-shirt.
Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, walked around set in a dressing robe before changing into a costume of trousers and a long lace-up coat.

Meanwhile Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner's body double was also spotted in a heavy dark green dress, her long red locks swept into a bun and later styled into a braided crown.
Filming of series seven had previously been delayed, as the weather was too warm to film winter scenes.
Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss said: “We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will probably be a little bit later.
“We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes anymore.
“So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
Game of Thrones broke the record for the highest number of Emmy Awards won by a fictional series at this month's Emmy Awards.
The hit series, which was adapted from George R.R. Martin's series of novels, scooped up the coveted prizes for Best Drama, Best Writing and Best Directing.
That brought its total number of Emmys to 38 — beating sitcom Frasier's previous record by one.
Series seven will feature just seven episodes instead of the usual ten.
