The Fall’s Gillian Anderson discusses sexual chemistry between her character and Jamie Dornan’s serial killer
Gillian revealed her character was fascinated by serial killer Paul
THE Fall is finally back on screens tonight after a massive cliff hanger at the end of season two and Gillian Anderson admits her character has a "fascination" with serial killer Paul, played by Jamie Dornan.
Fans sent in questions to the X Files star on This Morning with many asking if there is a sexual chemistry between her character, Detective Stella Gibson and serial killer Paul Spector.
Speaking to This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofiled, Gillian relented that Stella is "fascinated" by him but she doesn't think there's a sexual attraction between them.
She said: "Stella is a very sexual being. She is absolute distracted and fascinated by him.
"She has spent so much time getting into the mind of a sexual predator. By immersing herself she has gone into some dark places.
"He's a very dark and twisted psychological predator."
Phil added: "That's what makes it so gripping" and Gillian replied: "There's tension there… I won't call it sexual but tension is there."
Gillian, 48, said she loves her character because she is both manly while also being proud of being a woman.
She explained: "She's so comfortable with herself. It's a confidence and she's obviously comfortable with her femininity, she's masculine and feminine.
"I tend to hide from my femininity, I dress in all black and wear combat boots. She allowed me to embrace that aspect of myself and be more feminine."
The Fall airs tonight at 9pm on BBC2.
