Coronation Street fans left devastated as Maria Connor’s dog Ozzy dies of cancer – less than 30 MINUTES after the shock death of Holly on Emmerdale
Tonight hasn't been an easy ride for soap lovers as another shock death comes just after the mysterious death of Holly Barton
CORONATION Street viewers were left heartbroken on Thursday night's episode as fans said goodbye to Maria Connor's dog Ozzy.
It came as another blow to soap fans who less than half an hour before were left stunned at the sudden death of Holly Barton - which had evaded being spoiled by being kept heavily under wraps.
The death of Ozzy comes as a major blow for Maria, who bought the pet in 2007 with her now dead love, Liam Connor.
Brother Kirk is by her side as she comes to terms with losing the pet, after discovering that he has terminal cancer.
One wrote on Twitter: "I am a mess with tears rolling down my face watching poor Ozzy die on #corrie I can't cope."
A second person had the storyline hit close to home and wrote: "Poor Ozzy that episode broke my heart brought back so many memories of when my dog Molly died"
The black lab slipped away in Maria's arms on the sofa.

The death of the much-loved pet was made even more bitter because it occurred on the same night Emmerdale bosses blindsided fans and had Holly Barton be found dead following a drugs overdose.
In heartbreaking scenes noone was prepared for, Holly appeared to be asleep in her bed as her mum Moira couldn't wake her up.
As she held her daughter's hand, she realised she was cold and had died in her sleep.
Viewers wrote: "Two deaths in one day, why do they do this to me #emmerdale #corrie"
Another added: "So an #emmerdale character dies from a drugs overdose and now they put a dog down on #corrie. @ITV really know how to entertain the nation."
A third said: "Man alive I'm an emotional wreck with #holly in #emmerdale and #ozzy in #corrie I'm away for an early night #emotionalwreck #soaps"
