Strictly’s Darcey Bussell opens up about near death experience during childbirth
Judge almost slipped into a coma when she was in labour with daughter Phoebe
STRICTLY Come Dancing's Darcey Bussell thought she was going to die in childbirth.
The former prima ballerina welcomed daughter Phoebe in 2001 with husband Angus Forbes, but the happy moment was marred by Darcey's health woes during the birth.
The 47-year-old Strictly judge said: "Towards the end of my pregnancy with my daughter Phoebe, I had pre-eclampsia and had to have her delivered very early by C-section.
"My blood pressure soared and my blood wouldn’t clot.
"I had fluid on my heart and lungs and it looked like I was going into a coma. It was a very close call."

Thankfully Darcey came through the birth safely, and went on to her second daughter Zoe three years later.
As well as her family life, Darcey opened up about her career during her chat with , revealing how she had to kiss Hollywood actor Harrison Ford when she auditioned for a movie role.
She recalled: "I had three screen tests with Harrison Ford when I was 25 for the film Sabrina.
"It was me against Juliette Binoche and Julia Ormond and I didn’t get the part.
"I didn’t think I would be in the same room as Harrison Ford for the audition, but I even had to kiss him for a romantic scene.
"It was the best kiss I’ve ever had. I still have a recording of the screen test we did together."
