A STRING of celebs have been targeted by burglars in France in recent years.
Racing star Jenson Button, 36, and his now-estranged wife Jessica Michibata were reportedly gassed in their French villa and robbed last year.
Thieves stole more than £300,000 worth of the couple’s possessions including 31-year-old Jessica’s £250,000 diamond engagement ring from the luxury mansion.
Police suspected the burglars had used a sleeping gas to knock the couple out before robbing them in Saint-Tropez.
In July this year model Abbey Clancy, 30, was targeted by robbers at her and hubby Peter Crouch’s holiday home in the south of France.
She was left “traumatised” after discovering the intruders rifling through her belongings – but it is thought they left empty-handed.
And in August Made in Chelsea stars were said to be terrified after their holiday villa in Cannes was ransacked by thieves.
Cast members Tiffany Watson, 22, and Louise Thompson, 26, were filming the show’s Cannes special when the thieves made off with armfuls of their belongings.
The E4 reality programme stars were left shaken – especially when Louise’s car was broken into days later and robbers nicked her Prada handbag and Dior sunglasses.
