BINDI Irwin's boyfriend Chandler Powell was snapped trying to emulate his girlfriend's tragic dad Steve as he tentatively fed a croc at Australia Zoo.

Chandler looked every inch the part dressed in his khakis - but with Bindi close by for good measure.

Bindi was eight when her Crocodile Hunter father died, stabbed by a stingray barb in the heart at the age of 44.

And the animal lover seems to have followed in his footsteps, putting Chandler to shame as she tackled an enormous croc, twice her size.

The pair have been dating since 2013, and recently Chandler, an American native and wakeboarder, has been spending a lot of time at the Irwin family's zoo.

"Definitely starting small ... but growing up in Florida with gators has certainly trained me well!"

Bindi also captioned a cute picture of the two of them at the zoo and said: "How blessed I am to have you in my life. Thank you for everything

"Let's always have adventures together like this. You're amazing."
