Caitlyn Jenner posts touching tribute to step-daughter Kim Kardashian – after being slammed by fans for being ‘insensitive’
CAITLYN Jenner has posted a gushing message about Kim Kardashian following her torment at the hands of armed robbers.
The Instagram post aimed at her step-daughter comes as day after Caitlyn upset Kim’s fans with a social media gaffe that saw her being relentlessly trolled.
Next to a picture of Kim, Caitlyn wrote: “Love my girl!
“After hearing the full story, I'm so thankful she's okay.
“It's a reminder for us all to be careful in the uncertainty of this world.”
On Monday, 66-year-old Caitlyn infuriated Kim’s fans by posting a picture of her and daughter Kylie at a race track.
She captioned the picture: “Had so much fun with Kylie at Sunday’s car show. Here we are with my friend Jeff Dunham’s original#Batmobile.”
Thirty-five-year-old Kim was bound and gagged at her Paris apartment by thieves who got away with a haul worth around £8.5million.
Caitlyn’s followers immediately reacted by slamming the star for not posting something to reflect Kim’s ordeal.
One said: I’m shocked at the fact this was posted after what your daughter went through like nothing happened. I’m not even a fan of Kim K and I feel bad.”
Another wrote: “Thought you’d say something about your daughter Kim’s tragedy”
This irate fan commented: “Are you kidding me? Your daughter has a gun held to her head and this is what you are posting. “
Caitlyn's post comes as even more details are emerging of what Kim went through.
The masked gang taped Kim’s mouth shut, handcuffed her and dumped her in the bathtub as they ransacked her Paris apartment.
Their haul included two phones and a £3.5million ring. Kim left the French capital yesterday — minus the rock on her engagement finger.
Kim’s spokesman said: “She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.”
A source said: "She's very pleased to heading back to the United States. She has given a full statement for the police."
Her departure came amid questions over why her security staff failed to prevent the attack.
It is believed the gang took advantage of Kim’s obsession with social media updates to keep track of her movements.
Security experts say Twitter and Snapchat messages and pictures showing her location could have given vital information.
Kim was asleep when the gang, who dressed as policemen and spoke English with accents, stormed her apartment building in the French capital’s upmarket eighth district at 2.25am.
They made the night porter show them where Kim was staying. He was handcuffed and pushed into a cupboard.
The robbers then forced their way into Kim’s apartment. At least two men grabbed her and held a gun to her temple.
They then swiped a £3.5million ring and a jewellery box containing £5.24million in gems, some cash and two mobile phones.
The stolen ring is believed to be the huge diamond Kim was given by husband Kanye West, 39, to mark their engagement.
She was seen wearing it in the hours before the robbery — but it was missing from Kim’s ring finger when she was pictured at Le Bourget airport before flying back to the US yesterday
Kim phoned Kanye sounding “terrified and hysterical” after the raid.
A source said: “He said she was really upset and it took him a few seconds to understand what she was saying to him.
“He told her that he couldn’t care less about the jewellery, he was just thankful she was OK.”
She arrived back in New York yesterday, flanked by her doting hubby.
The couple were last night holed up in a New York penthouse — protected by 20 security guards. Kanye took her there after meeting her plane when it landed in New Jersey yesterday afternoon.
She was seen leaving the airport with an assistant and bodyguard Pascal in a convoy of ten black SUVs with a police escort.
A witness said: “They were not messing around — it was presidential level security.
“The police stopped traffic to get them home safe.”
Meanwhile, Caitlyn's ex-wife Kris Jenner gave the thumbs up to show they are all doing ok, after her daughter Kim's ordeal.
Kris had been visiting her shaken daughter at her Manhatten apartment, which she fled to, following the ordeal.
The self-titled Momanger stuck her thumb up, when asked how Kim was, to signal they were doing their best, given the circumstances.
