Cindy may be thrilled her sister’s back in Chester, but as she launches her new property development, it’s clear that Jude isn’t here to make friends.
Which is just as well, as when she bumps into old sparring partner Tony and her stepbrother Tom, she doesn’t receive a warm welcome.
In fact, Tom can barely bring himself to speak to the sister who’s played such a small role in his life.
However, that’s nothing compared to Jude’s reaction when she runs into Jack.
Still smarting from his affair with her sister Dawn in the 1990s, Jude has some harsh words for the former cop as memories of her dead sibling come flooding back.
Jude’s still got Cindy, though, but after losing her job at Nightingales, the cleaner suggests becoming a partner in Jude’s business – only for Jude to assume she’s joking.
Cindy’s further annoyed when Jude offers Holly a job instead of her, so the scorned sister sets about mobilising the villagers in a campaign against the new development.
Soon, an angry mob has gathered in Nightingales to object, but Jude turns on the charm and wows the locals so much that Sally considers buying one of the units.
Dirk is suspicious of Jude’s new-found wealth, though, and rightly so.
Later, the developer takes Sally round a show home and the impressed teacher is keen to sign on the dotted line.
However, it appears that Jude may not be quite as on the level as she claims when the house’s real owners return home – it’s a massive scam! We knew she hadn’t changed…
