Secret meaning behind Ed Sheeran’s daughter’s very unique name revealed
ED Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn named their baby Jupiter following a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
The pop star, 31, and his wife, 30, would have conceived the tot at the time the mighty planet was visible from earth.
The planet could be seen in August last year with keen star-gazer Ed, who has a sky-scanning telescope on his Suffolk estate, sure to have examined Jupiter.
He invested in an observatory dome in his back garden and has filled it with state-of-the-art equipment for his new hobby.
In recent years, the name Jupiter, associated with the planet named after the Roman god of the sky and thunder, has become more popular as it is said to represent the “brave and bold”.
A source said: “Ed and Cherry loved the name both in terms of what it stands for and its uniqueness.

“Everyone thinks Jupiter works perfectly for her. Behind closed doors Cherry has been gushing over becoming a mum again.
“She and Ed really are a match made in heaven. Their family is beautiful.”
The Sun revealed this week the couple named their daughter Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran after welcoming the little girl into the world back in May — nine months after their romantic night under the stars.
They shared the news with a snap online of her tiny white boots earlier this year.
Announcing his new arrival to The Sun, Ed gushed: “We’ve had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her and over the moon to now be a family of four.”
His first daughter Lyra Antarctica was named after being conceived on a trip to the continent.
Ed used a special Tour Edition of his hit album Equals to pen a heartfelt track, Welcome to the World, about the arrival of first child Lyra, now one.
It ends with an intimate recording of the couple feeling Lyra kick. Ed says: “You got the kick? Has it actually?” to which Cherry replies sweetly: “Yeah. Have you woken up?”
