IT'S every X Factor contestant's worst nightmare and both Emily and Freddy have had their song choices changed at the last minute.

Both singers had their songs switched late on Thursday evening leaving them panicked ahead of the first live show tonight.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Emily revealed she stayed up all night learning the words to her new track.

She said: "On Thursday they changed my song. It was Toxic by Britney Spears but they decided to drop it at the last minute.

"The song is dated and because this week is This Is Me [theme] and it just wasn’t right."

While she can't reveal what her new song is, Emily says it's more "current and really fresh".

Speaking about the pressures of having to learn a new song, Emily insisted it's all part and parcel of wanting to become a successful singer

She said: "Artists deal with this pressure all the time and you get thrown in the deep end and you just have to be prepared for it.

"You know what, I’ve taken it well and I thought, I’ve just got to learn this song and that’s what I’ve done.

"I had to learn it on guitar, I knew the lyrics-ish from the charts but I’ve had to properly read through them and learn them.

"I was up until the early hours of Friday morning with my headphones on going over it while the girls were sleeping.

"I’m feeling OK, I’ve not heard the track I’m singing to yet but fingers crossed it’ll be OK."

Emily wasn't the only one dealing with a last minute change as Freddy also had to learn a new song for the first live show.

He explained: "Mine changed on Thursday, late on Thursday night. I’m really scared about it but I’m happy because there were good reasons why it changed.

"Nicole and I discussed it a lot because we felt like the song wasn’t expressing me. It’s nothing I’ve been doing up to this point.

"I was happy with the song and I was really up for performing it but now I feel like I’m doing something much more expressive.

"It’s a song I know already and I love it to pieces but it is stressful but I have just Friday to practise and my rehearsal slot isn’t until later on in the day.

"I haven’t heard my track or anything! I’m trying not to panic.

"I know the song but production work on it the song can change completely.

"I had Friday night and Saturday morning to sort it out."

However, not only does he have to deal with rehearsing a new track but Freddy's voice is also giving him trouble.

He said: "My voice is knackered already – I’m on voice rest all the time. I have it the worst, it’s awful.

"I had it one day one as soon as we moved into the house they put me on voice rest. It’s so bad.

"It’s the filming, doing interviews and singing all the time. My vocal stamina is so poor at the moment I have to work on it.

"It’s something that could really hold me back and I’m already stressed about tonight because of the way my vocals are now. We’re all trying  not to speak."

Find out how the pair get on with their new song choices when The X Factor live shows kick off tonight at 8pm on ITV.
