Pique has since wasted no time moving on from the pop beauty as it was revealed that he has secretly been dating a 23-year-old student who works for him.

Those close to the couple say they have been seeing each other for some time.

But Shakira has continued to put on a brave face and this week posted a fun throwback video.

In the clip, she takes grainy snaps with adoring fans on an old pink flip phone - making several remarks about its camera technology.

“This one doesn’t work in America, no” she remarks, handling one of the devices.

Before adding: “God, imagine all the paparazzi.”

In the clip’s caption, the singer quipped: “Can't see these camera phones catching on. I hardly see how much cameras have changed on cell phones #tbt.”

Shakira, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, has already braved public appearances with her former beau after cheering on their son at baseball in June.

The couple share two children together -  Milan, nine, and Sasha, severn – from their 11-year relationship.

Shakira first met Gerard in 2010 after he featured in the video to her song Waka Waka, released for the 2010 World Cup that year.

She has not revealed the reasons behind the split but the couple have agreed on a temporary custody agreement — despite Gerard wanting the kids to stay with him in Barcelona and Shakira being keen for them to relocate to Miami with her.

The singer has been keeping busy in the US as a judge on telly show Dancing With Myself, alongside Nick Jonas.

And in April she released the single Te Felicito with Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro, which will feature on her upcoming 12th album.

However, the singer is currently embroiled in a legal case after she was accused of defrauding the Spanish treasury out of an estimated £12million.

The singer, who has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, has denied any wrongdoing.
