Lorraine Kelly wins planning battle to extend £2m cottage where she films Gogglebox – after tree row with neighbours
LORRAINE Kelly's plans to extend her historic £2m home where she films Celebrity Gogglebox have been greenlit.
The TV presenter, 62, and husband Steve Smith want to knock through a wall of their three-bedroom riverside cottage for a bigger master bedroom.
The former boathouse already boasts a large sitting room with a vaulted ceiling and cast-iron log burner, a 24ft conservatory, bijoux guest house and 100ft wide garden.
It also has a summerhouse, boat mooring and landing stage with views across the Thames.
Lorraine now wants to add an 18ft wide single storey side extension, projecting a further 15ft out onto an existing lawn, to create a bigger master bedroom including a dressing room and en-suite bathroom.
She applied to the local council for planning permission and was given the green light after receiving no objections from neighbours.

She needed consent because her home is deemed to be a heritage asset in a designated conservation area.
Lorraine's planning agent said: "The bedroom would have a pair of matching windows to the north and a set of French doors with side lights to the west, leading to a small deck and the views over the river."
A recent application to fell a large pine tree that was causing the couple's car to be covered in bird poo and pine needles was met with strong resistance from neighbours.
The outcry prompted the council rejected the bid after it was called "whimsical and selfish".

Lorraine moved to Buckinghamshire five years ago after selling her £700,000 seven-bedroom home in Dundee to be closer to London for work at ITV.
She often shares glimpses of her lavish and quirky home and reported from it during the pandemic in episodes called "Lorraine on Lockdown". She even appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox from her living room with daughter Rosie.
Her local council also granted Lorraine planning permission for a new conservation roof light and painted timber double glazed doors as part of the bedroom extension.
