X Factor star Sam Callahan’s shame as explicit videos showing him pleasuring himself circulate online

X FACTOR star Sam Callahan has opened up about his shame after an explicit video of him pleasuring himself was released online.

The singer's fans will no doubt fear Sam could hit rock bottom over the video - which shows him laying in bed fully naked performing sex acts on camera for another person - after it hit the internet on a Twitter account, two years after it was filmed.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Sam Callahan told us: "This was a couple of years ago. I was only a teenage lad, I hold my hands up.";

Despite the Twitter account which tried to sell copies of the video being quickly suspended, it made its way onto social media and began circulating, leaving Sam exposed.

Sam said the video's release was due to him being 'catfished' which means Sam thought he was talking to one person, when in reality he was performing for another, who then recorded the interaction.

Sam fell victim to a similar leak in 2013, after a glamour model he had been sexting revealed some of the naked pictures he had sent to her.

He told us: "I was young and foolish back then in 2013 and I was young and foolish in 2014 too, unfortunately I wrongly trusted the person I was speaking to at the time and was completely betrayed and catfished.

"It's not something that would happen now. I'm way too focused and driven to put myself in that risky situation, but I guess we live and learn."

What is catfishing?

Catfishing is the act of a person creating a different identity online for nefarious purposes.

It is most often used by people to seduce someone else on the internet by using pictures and videos of other people to trick the victim into falling for them, or in the case of Sam, performing sex acts on webcam.

Named after the movie of the same name, which saw Nev Schulman discover his online girlfriend was actually a 40-something, married mother of two.

It has also spawned an MTV reality series which follows Nev as he helps other people uncover their catfishes.

Back in 2013 at the height of his post X Factor fame, Sam was caught sending naked pictures to a glamour model while he was in a relationship with fellow show finalist Tamera Foster.

At the time, , telling The Sun: "It was such a stupid thing to do.
