JAMES ARTHUR plotted a tryst with Playboy model Carla Howe behind his girlfriend’s back, it was claimed last night.
The X Factor winner asked Carla, 26, to wait for him outside his London apartment.
When she turned him down, James, 28, pleaded: “I think you think I’m some kind of sleazebag. I’m actually a big shy idiot — don’t worry.”
He sent flirty texts after seeing her racy lingerie snaps on Instagram.
A source said: “He wanted to see Carla as soon as he got back home to London from touring Europe.
“Carla told him she wouldn’t go round to his house when she’d never met him and he backtracked, begging her to meet for a coffee instead and pouring compliments on her about her body to get her back onside.”
The messaging began with James riding high on the success of comeback track Say You Won’t Let Go in September.
Pals say Carla, who bedded married ex-Manchester United defender Patrice Evra, rejected his advances when she learned of his X Factor backing dancer girlfriend Jessica Grint.
A source close to James said: “They shared a bit of banter. She actually called him when he stopped responding.”
