Bosses are planning to say goodbye to the star who passed away last week aged 90
CORONATION Street bosses are reported to be planning a special mention of Hilda Ogden to honour the death of actress Jean Alexander.
Jean, who left the soap in 1987, died last week at the age of 90 - three days after her birthday.
Despite leaving the ITV staple show years ago, her character Hilda Ogden has remained one of the street's most iconic residents, and now writers are drafting up something to say goodbye.
The Irish Mail on Sunday reported that one option is Kevin Webster and Sally Metcalfe, former husband and wife, will be informed of the death of their old landlady.
A spokesman said: "What will happen next week is that the producer and the executive producer will discuss when it might be possible. They would obviously have to make a decision about whether it will work.”
