CORONATION Street veteran Helen Worth appears to have made a rookie mistake on This Morning by giving away a huge story line.
Helen, who plays Gail Rodwell in the ITV soap, appeared to mistakenly reveal Ken Barlow, played by William Roache, suffers a stroke in an upcoming episode.
This Morning viewers were stunned by her faux pas and joked about how Helen may be in trouble after making the slip up in front of her boss Kate Oates.
Helen's revelation about Ken's stroke comes after it was revealed his on-screen son, Peter Barlow, it set to return to the show.
The alcoholic, played by Chris Gascoyne, will turn up on dad Ken Barlow’s doorstep sporting a nasty gash on his forehead on the episode airing on Monday 17 October.
In a teaser for the Corrie episode, Ken attempts to question his son on how he acquired the injuries, but is unable to get a truthful response out of him.
He left the cobbles back in 2014, only returning for Deirdre Barlow’s funeral when Anne Kirkbride died.
Producer Kate Oates decided to bring him back full-time alongside nephew Adam and half-brother Daniel.
Speaking the the Coronation Street press day in the summer, she said: “One of the things I am most excited about and something I consider a real privilege is that I am lucky enough to work on the longest-running soap.
“One of the longest-running families on that soap is the Barlows and why would you not want to strengthen that family?
But some have feared that the troublesome Barlow could interfere with former partner Leanne and Nick's blossoming romance.
The on/off lovers will finally begin to get back on track despite Leanne being pregnant with Steve McDonald’s baby following a one night stand.
