Ex-Strictly pro hits out at Craig Revel Horwood’s ‘unfair’ Ellie Taylor comments and says ‘I think they were amazing’

FORMER Strictly pro Joanne Clifton has hit back at Craig Revel Horwood's 'unfair' comments after he savaged Ellie Taylor's Paso Doble on Saturday night.

Glitterball winner Jo analysed Ellie and Johannes Radebe's routine on last night's It Takes Two alongside host Rylan Clark.

Both disagreed with Craig's assessment that it looked like they were just "walking around".

Joanne said: "That's not fair at all. I think she was amazing. The lines, the silhouettes at the beginning especially.

"I think she needs a little bit more drama, have the pelvis forward, but also I agree with Shirley of the angles."

Demonstrating sharp movements with her arms and hands, she continued: "It can be as much or as little as you want but twist it a little bit inside like a wet towel."

Ellie's Paso scored a total of 23 - six less than their routine from week one.

Craig wasn't the only one to slam the routine, head judge Shirley said it "lacked completely the essence of the Paso Doble" and she "didn't get the Spanish feeling."

Body language expert Judi James cast her eye on Ellie and Johannes' reaction to the panel mauling.

She told the : "Ellie has a super-revealing face with very mobile expressions. Last week we saw every type of excitement, shock and surprise but tonight her lovely huge smile was switched off like a light when first Craig and then Shirley set about savaging her routine."

"When Craig monstered it, Ellie tried to perform a laugh but it was incongruent-looking grin of pure bravado as there was no sign of a smile in her eyes.

"Shirley’s criticism involved the kind of standing demonstration followed by showboating that Bruno was always known for.

"Ellie’s mouth closed again and she sucked her lips in to suggest hurt emotions."
