FANS of the BBC drama Ordinary Lies have praised the cast and writers after the new series got off to a very dramatic start.
Viewers took to Twitter to heralded the return of the show which returned for a second series tonight.
Tonight’s opening episode saw O’Neill star as Joe who suspects his wife may be cheating on him so installs CCTV cameras in his house to spy on her.
But what he discovers is not what he was expecting – and neither were the viewers.
One wrote: “Loved loved loved Ordinary Lies tonight! Fantastic acting and brilliant twist to the tale! Never saw it coming! Well done.”
Another added: “Fantastic opening episode of Ordinary Lies. Clever twist to story line that I didn't see coming. Looking forward to next episode.
And one wrote: “Brilliant performances by all on Ordinary Lies tonight. Wasn't expecting that ending! My Tuesday nights just got a whole lot better.”
And while the entire cast – which includes Angela Griffin, Matt Di Angelo and Noel Sullivan - got social media nods, actors Jill Halfpenny and Con O’Neill were singled out for their performances, particularly for the jaw-dropping twist at the end.
One fan wrote: “@cononeilluk Wonderful as always Been a huge fan for years. Bravo, Sir!."

The rest of the series will focus on the other characters in the show just like the first series which aired last year and starred Michelle Keegan, Jason Manford, Sally Lindsay and Mackenzie Crook.
