Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall misses band’s appearance on The One Show due to “family problems”

Band was left to promote their new single as a trio on BBC One show on Wednesday night

LITTLE Mix became a trio on Wednesday night when Jade Thirwall pulled out of an appearance on The One Show.

The group appeared on the BBC One show to promote their new single, Shout Out to my Ex, but it quickly became obvious that they were a Mixer down.

Band mate Jesy Nelson told hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones: "She’s had a few family problems so she can’t be here."

As Jesy spoke, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock pulled sad faces as they sat closely together on the red sofa.

Jade's absence comes as the band go through a tumultuous week, after being blasted by fans over their stage costumes during their appearance on the X Factor on Sunday night.

A fellow fan agreed, adding: "Jade, hope everything's ok! we all love you and always here to support you" plus two love heart emojis.

During their appearance on the show, the girls addressed the outrage they caused by their skimpy costumes on The X Factor, insisting they are promoting positive body images and confidence.

Jesy said: "Our mums are all for it. I think it’s nice that we’re four young girls who are confident in our bodies and go out there and rock it."

Leigh-Anne, 25, added: "They weren’t even that bad, I was wearing a shirt!"

The pair continued to justify their change in direction when it came to their wardrobe, with Jesy repeating her future mother-in-law Coleen Nolan's comments that other pop stars do not face the same kind of criticism when they were similar costumes.
