Michael Fassbender cosies up to girlfriend Alicia Vikander as they attend London premiere of Light Between Oceans
It was the film that brought them together as a couple
MICHAEL Fassbender couldn’t keep his eyes off his stunning girlfriend Alicia Vikander tonight as they attended the London premiere of the film that sparked their romance.
The actor proudly wrapped his arm around her slender waist as they posed for pictures outside the Curzon Mayfair cinema.
They were at the screening of The Light Between Oceans, where they met and fell in love off-screen.
And having been dating for the last two years, most of which they have kept very private, there was no denying their love as they stuck close on the red carpet.
Alicia, 28, looked stunning in a floor-length blue floral dress, her hair tied in a loose knot at the base of her neck.
Michael, 39, looked very dapper in his dark suit and sent his female fans into a frenzy as he flashed them his sexy smile and posed for selfies.
The film tells the story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife living off the coast of Western Australia who raise a baby they rescue from an adrift rowboat.
The romantic period drama, which was written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, also stars Rachel Weisz.
Rachel, 46, was unable to attend tonight’s premiere as she is currently starring in the Broadway show Plenty in New York.
But Michael and Alicia were joined on the red carpet by Florence Clery, who plays the couple's adopted daughter in the film and was delighted to be reunited with her on-screen parents.
Despite being fiercely private about their relationship, Alicia recently spoke to Porter magazine about their romance.
She said: “We’ve never hidden the fact that we’re a couple… He’s extremely hardworking. He was like, ‘Give me something new! I just need a new idea. I need to do it differently’. I just thought that was cool.”
And Cianfrance said he noticed their chemistry on set and said: “It wasn’t hard for me to see that the chemistry could be there, just knowing them as individuals.
“What I saw was two great people who were so supportive of each other, who were really picking each other up, and pushing each other.”
