CHERYL's ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini seemed to have something to celebrate when he was spotted out on the town just hours before their divorce was finalised.
The pop star's ex was seen looking slightly worse for wear at he got into a taxi following his big night out in London.
Reports suggest the former couple's marriage was officially dissolved this morning as a London court granted their Decree Nisi.
The paperwork leaves Cheryl, 33, who is rumoured to be pregnant, to pursue a new life with boyfriend Liam Payne, 23.
JB, 35, certainly looked as if he was celebrating some big news when he was pictured looking bleary-eyed after attending the launch of a new restaurant in the capital.
The French businessman looked as if he had enjoyed a heavy night as he closed his eyes and slumped in a taxi on the way home.
It came short before the divorce papers revealed Cheryl's sensational claims that JB's "unreasonable behaviour" led to her dramatic weight loss.
The star's shrinking frame sparked fears for her health towards the end of the couple's marriage, and she blamed JB for her "stress" and "weight loss" in candid court papers.
Cheryl, who filed for divorce on the grounds of JB's unreasonable behaviour, is said to be relieved that her marriage to JB is finally coming to an end following months of negotiations.
A well-placed source said: “This has been the result of months of negotiations, but Cheryl and JB reached an agreement two months ago.
"And there has been no financial settlement. Lots of wild figures have been thrown about, but that is the truth, as the documents will show.
";JB is not going to be paid any money by Cheryl.
"She will not officially change her name straightaway because that takes time, and there are other things she needs to think about first...
"After months of debate over this divorce, Cheryl is really relieved the terms have finally been agreed by both sides.
"The negotiations have been dragging on for ages, when all she has wanted to do is move on.
"She is in a great place at the moment, and is really happy with Liam, so she’s delighted that she can officially draw a line under her marriage to JB.
"This means she can now focus on the future.”
One Direction star Liam, who flew to LA this week to begin work on his solo album, is also said to be happy the divorce is finally going through.
Another source added: "Liam was thrilled when he found out a few months ago that the divorce would be through by the end of this year.
"He and Cheryl can now start to plan their future together without this hanging over their heads...
"On the day he found out the divorce was close to being sorted, he changed his status on Twitter to read he was the “luckiest man in the world”.
The big divorce news comes amid growing speculation that Cheryl and Liam are preparing to become first-time parents.
The former Girls Aloud star has been sporting a more rounded tummy in recent weeks, but she has yet to comment on the baby speculation.
Cheryl’s divorce from JB comes almost three years after the pair first began dating.
They met in Cannes in January 2014, and JB proposed just months later.
The couple went on to tie the knot in a romantic ceremony on the Caribbean island of Mustique in July.
However, rumours about trouble in the marriage began circulating just a year later, and the union soon crumbled.
