The brightly-coloured garment, which featured long sleeves and a low square neckline, made sure the telly favourite could not be missed.

Carol left her blonde hair in loose waves and wore a silver drop pendant to finish off her look.

She took to her Instagram Stories on World Menopause Day to write: “I’m on my way to the Houses of Parliament to join a rallying cry.”

Carol tagged the Menopause Mandate Instagram account – which has organised the event.

It’s website states: “What better day to come together with Menopause Mandate at College Green, Westminster!

“Why not come down and join Mariella Frostrup, Carol Vorderman, Lisa Snowdon, Penny Lancaster and all the patrons and supporters of Menopause Mandate to make some noise and keep the meno-cause in the minds of our MP’s and top of the media agenda.

“We are stronger together!”

Carol has previously told how suffering from the menopause left her sobbing and “unable to look ahead.”

The menopause is hormone deficiency syndrome – particularly the depletion of the hormone oestrogen – which affects all females later in life.

Admitting the full depths to which she plunged, the I’m A Celebrity star previously said her dark moods hit so hard some days she could not get out of bed or make basic decisions.

She even compared it to the grief she suffered after the death of her beloved Countdown co-host Richard Whiteley in 2005.

For the last six months of 2015, she told how she found herself in a deep depression after beginning to experience menopause symptoms in the summer.

Carol said: “Had I been in different circumstances, I could understand why people take their lives — because you can’t think of a way out.

“I couldn’t see the point of going on sometimes. It was a horrible place to be. I’ve been struck by grief, and experienced bad times. But this was different.”

She spent six months suffering in silence, before she said the “penny dropped” just after Christmas 2015 as she realised that her lows were linked to her time of the month.

Carol then saw a leading specialist who gave her two hormone replacement gels made from the yam plant. Overnight she felt an immediate change, and since her appointment has been depression-free.

She said: “I’ve never had a moment, not a second since. Isn’t it crazy? It’s just a simple chemical imbalance, and that’s all it was.

“That’s a natural thing just because of ageing. Think how many people suffer just because of that?”
