EastEnders’ Jane has a lot of difficult questions for Steven Beale – is he about to confess all?

Steven Beale has been living on borrowed time ever since he told Jane that she and her wheelchair were getting in the way at work
(Although that was a neat save by Ian, asking Jane’s advice on making the restaurant more wheelchair-access friendly).
Now Jane is fixated on who’s been playing fast and loose with the accounts at Beales, and Steven and Ian – who, of course, has a track record of dodgy business practices as long as your arm – are the prime suspects.
As Jane continues to root around and ask difficult questions, Steven admits to Lauren that he’s paranoid Jane’s on to him.
Later, when he finds himself alone with Jane, his rubbish poker face and generally shifty demeanour do him no favours at all. Is now the time to confess what he’s done – and even if not, will Jane rumble him anyway?
In truth, it might be no bad thing if Steven did have to pack his bags.
We’ve not really bought into his return with Lauren from New Zealand after he somehow managed to oust Peter from her affections.
Jane would love nothing more than Steven to disappear out of their lives again.
When you’re recuperating at home from being half-bludgeoned to death by your adoptive son, the last thing you need is to be getting gyp from the lad who accidentally shot you during a hostage siege…
Bex has got the birthday blues
Bex is as torn as the rest of us about Shakil, as her own 16th birthday approaches. His was a total disaster, thanks to his obsession with the pair of them having sex.
Martin was furious then, and he’s back on Shakil’s case now.
Come the big day, Bex is so stressed out that she decides to cancel the whole thing. While Stacey gives the unhappy birthday girl some much-needed support (now that her mum is living it up in Kettering), Kush tries to teach his little brother a thing or two about how to treat women.
A bit rich, considering Kush’s own track record – Shabs, we miss you!
Dennis is a menace
Is it any wonder that Dennis is turning out to be a young lad with more than a few problems after all he’s been through?
He nearly met his maker on that Christmas bike ride with killer Bobby, not to mention all the chaos that comes with raging alcoholic stepdad Phil and deeply troubled stepbrother Ben.
When Dennis gets in trouble again at school, it’s the final straw for Sharon, and she decides the only way to stop his bad behaviour is to separate him from his mates and send him elsewhere.
As she begins researching different schools, we can’t help thinking Dennis’ wayward attitude is not going to change with a new classroom – it’s his erratic home life that needs a serious overhaul.
Just a thought, Shazza.
