Scotty T blasts Geordie Shore newbies as fame-hungry wannabes who put on an act for the cameras
Reality star doesn't think the MTV show is as good as it was when he first joined in series four
SCOTTY T has slammed the newer cast members of Geordie Shore who he claims only take part in the reality show because they are desperate
to be famous.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, he said the MTV programme is nowhere near as good as it once was, because his cast mates try too hard to be funny or controversial in front of the cameras.
He ranted: “Geordie Shore is nothing compared to what it used to be. When I first went on it was mint.
“When you're starting to get more newer people though, that's when it's not going to be as good.
"Like now it's as if they're throwing anybody in, and it works for a bit but it's weird.
“A lot of people now are just wanting to get on Geordie Shore because they think, ‘Oh I'm on Geordie Shore.’"
Chantelle Connelly, Marty McKenna, Nathan Henry and Chloe Ferry are among characters to have joined the show in the last two years.
But he believes part of the issue is that the producers are choosing the wrong people to join.
He continued: “They need to look for the right people. A lot of people will come in now and just be like. ‘Oh yeah I'm going to go onto Geordie Shore and rock it,’ and they just get tortured by me. I'm just like, ‘Go away.’

“And a lot of people's problems on the programme, I'm not going to name any names, have been people thinking too much about what they're
doing.
“So they're on reality telly like. ‘Oh what's this going to look like on camera? I wonder what's going to come out? I wonder how I'm going
to look on telly?’
“The reason why I got to where I am is because I didn't give a f**k. I just had a laugh, made some unreal friends, when it was like me, Gaz,
James, Aaron, Holly, Charlotte, Marnie and that.”
Scotty T – whose debut autobiography A Shore Thing is out tomorrow – joined the show in series four.
But ahead of the launch of the 13th series next week, the 28-year-old Geordie insists he does still enjoy it, even though the show is different from when he started.
He explained: “I enjoy filming still but the way things are set out it feels as if, I feel a lot of people I work with are just thinking about what they're doing.
“They're like trying to act it and it's pointless.
“But apart from that it's the best thing ever, like being in that house is mint.
“Geordie Shore isn't false, some of the people are. And it's the newer ones.
“Everyone else, we still have a laugh and what you see with us is what you'll get. We'll just have an absolute frisk. Mostly they're newbies and that, you can guess who it is, who they are, just by watching it.”
Scotty T: A Shore Thing published by Simon and Schuster is out today.
