CHERYL has reportedly hit back at her ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini amid claims he wants the singer to return a pricey ring once owned by his late mother now their divorce has been finalised.
The Frenchman gave Cheryl the band to celebrate their first anniversary, but he now wants the pop star to give it back.
The singer has now told pals is she is "baffled" by his demands as he failed to as for the ring back during the divorce negotiations.
Cheryl and JB were given the green light to move forward with their divorce yesterday when a court in London granted them a Decree Nisi.
It has emerged that the former Girls Aloud star is expected to keep her £20 million fortune in the settlement, but JB wants one particularly sentimental item to be returned.
He gave Cheryl a special ring that belonged to his late mum, and he is hoping the singer will give it back to the family.
A source told the : "He gave her the jewellery to celebrate 12 months together.
"It belonged to his mother. It is now the 10-year anniversary of her death and he desperately wants it back, but Cheryl still hasn’t posted it and has made no effort to return it. He is pretty upset and would like it back."
However, a source close to Cheryl admits the singer is surprised by the claims, telling the Mail Online: "Cheryl is baffled as to why this request has been made via a newspaper.
"JB never asked for the ring back during months of discussions between lawyers.#
"If this story is true and the request is made via their lawyers she will send the ring back immediately. She has not worn the ring since last year."
Another pal added: "Since they split up last year, Cheryl has not worn it.
"She put it in a safe and totally forgot about it because he has never asked her for it.
"Cheryl finds it very weird that this has just come to light now but she will send the ring over to her lawyers immediately."
Cheryl, 33, and JB were granted a divorce yesterday after months of legal wrangling, and the paperwork revealed the singer blamed her now ex-husband for her dramatic weight loss last year.
She suggested his "unreasonable behaviour" caused her "stress" and impacted her health.
Neither Cheryl or JB attended the brief hearing, which last just 14 seconds, but the singer is believed to be relieved that the ordeal is now over.
