THIS Morning viewers were left speechless after Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford interviewed a man who wants to become a PARROT.
Ted Richards, who lives in Bristol, has taken fashion inspiration from his beloved pets and has undergone extensive body modification in order to emulate their likeness.
This includes having his EARS REMOVED, his eyes tattooed red and blue, spikes embedded in his head and tattoos over his face and body.
He revealed to a shocked Eamonn and Ruth that he is now planning to have his nose reshaped like a beak in order to complete the look.
Ted, who has previously needed glasses, has even claimed that the dye in his eyes has HELPED his vision - but he still had studs embedded into the side of his head in order to balance the eyewear.
During the interview, Ruth and Eamonn asked him about his new life, the chirpy character beamed and said: "I've come right out of my shell. Since I've been doing all this, I've been talking to a lot more people."
Ruth then asked: "Do you think it limits your chances to attract someone?"
To which Ted replied: "I expect they do because I've got so many. They'll wonder 'will i be able to handle it?'"
He also said: "It would be nice to share everything. I've met a few people, just other people what I've been talking to and stuff like that."
Viewers of the show flocked to Twitter to discuss the Parrot man and the life he leads.
One wrote: "I don't know about parrot, but he's definitely cuckoo!"
Another agreed and added: "I would love to know how you go through life looking like a parrot, actual madness. He doesn't even have ears"
Others worried for his mental state - despite Ted affirming he had a clean bill of health after Eamonn addressed it on air, and added: "Clearly the parrot man has mental health and/or self esteem issues. Some people have no talent so have to mutilate themselves."
However, some criticised Ruth and Eamonn's line of questioning, and wrote: "I'm finding this interview a bit judgemental... he's not hurting anyone? Let him be a parrot! Each to their own."
Another added: "I think parrot man was talked to disrespectfully on #thismorning it's not my idea of a good look but it's what he wants."
