Aide caught with hand up telly Queen’s skirt as Claire Foy and Matt Smith get into character for The Crown
The pair are filming TV drama The Crown
EVEN the Royal wardrobe can be subject to an embarrassing malfunction - something proved by actress Claire Foy who needed the help of an aide to readjust her underwear while in character as Elizabeth II.
The actress was clearly having some trouble with her pale green dress while shooting scenes for Netflix drama, The Crown.
She attempted to sort the bulging of fabrics around her waist on her own, but it became clear she needed assistance.
Luckily, an assistant was on-hand and boldly lifted up the hemline and dived her hand underneath.
Claire looked a little concerned at the red-faced mishap and glanced to the side to see what was going on.
After getting her undergarments straightened out, she proved the ultimate professional and continued to film alongside Dr Who favourite Matt Smith.
Otherwise, the rest of her conservative outfit stayed in tact.
Claire had dressed in the style of the current monarch, wearing a mustard-coloured hat along with a coat in the same shade as her gown.
She carried a tan bag and what looked to be a couple of coats slung over her arm as she strode down a swanky London street.
Meanwhile Matt, whom plays Prince Phillip, was getting into character as the dad by swinging a child into his arms.
He showed his paternal side as he raised the cute blonde toddler high into the sky with a grin on his face.
They then filmed scenes at Shoreham Airport to replicate the moment Queen Elizabeth and her husband stepped off a plane.
They looked the image of a happy family as they were surrounded by aviation vehicles.

Netflix has released a trailer for the Royal drama set against the backdrop of the Second World War.
The 10 episodes will see a young Queen Elizabeth divided between her family loyalties and duties as a monarch.
In the trailer, Prince Phillip says: "Might I suggest not being head of church for a minute, or head of state. Or the army, or the navy, or the government, or the fount of justice, or the whole damn circus frankly."
She asks: "Or be what?"
He replies: "A living breathing thing.
"A woman, a sister, a daughter, a wife."
The show will premiere exclusively on Netflix on November 4, 2016.
