KIM Kardashian has decided to shed her sexy image and replace it with more demure look and replace the red carpets with charity work following being robbed at gunpoint.
According to friends, the reason that Kim - who turns 36 today, has rarely been seen since the terrifying Paris incident three weeks ago is less that she’s traumatised and more that she’s planning her next move.
“It's a perfect opportunity. Even though it's a terrible situation, you have to look at the silver lining,” an insider, who has been part of Kim's circle for over a decade, told the DailyMail.com.
“Her mom said everyone has to renew themselves – look at Madonna. How much longer could what Kim was doing go on for? It's kind of nearing its peak.
“So it [the robbery] was perfect timing in the sense that this time away from the spotlight is giving her the chance to really focus on rebranding herself and what that will look like.”
After having $11million worth of jewellery stolen the look Kim will be going for is toned down and fresher faced, ditching the bling.
“She doesn't feel she needs to define herself by all the glitz and flashiness of it all,” continued the friend.
“So she'll probably re-emerge a little more subdued – she's talking about doing less make-up, no more sexy photo shoots, more covered up, doing a lot of charity work.
“She also feels that it's time for her to temper the flashiness of her brand image – the diamonds, the Rolls Royces and the other stuff, the furs and all of that.”
And it looks like Kim will be embracing a holier image, opting to adorn a cross rather than layers of bling.
“She thinks you can be sexy without being too revealing. She wants to wear clothes that are a little bit more conservative.
“She wants to wear a cross – like as her signature, wearing a cross instead of lots of jewellery.”
The insider even revealed that there may be a more cynical reason for Kim being holed up at home.

“The longer that she stays away, the more compassion the fans will have for her and the more excited they will be about her comeback.”
“She's totally fine and has been hunkered down working. She's doing a lot of work but she's not emotionally disturbed. She's certainly not as upset or affected by this [the robbery] as people are portraying her to be.”
