SHOULD SHE RELLEY HAVE GONE?

X Factor’s Relley C reveals the truth about those accusations that voting is fixed

RELLEY C became the third X Factor contestant to get the boot this weekend amid accusations that the new voting system is “unfair” and puts those who perform first at an advantage.

The Birmingham-born singer was the final person to perform on Saturday in a controversial show in which Dermot O’Leary announced that voting lines opened before the first contestant had sang, leading fans to question how fair this was to the act who went last.

When The Sun Online asked Relley whether she felt this held her back she said it “kind of” did, but said her lack of social media support was more to blame for her early exit.

“[The new voting system] kind of [held me back], but I mean at the end of the day, it depends on your following and the support you have in general,” she exclusively told The Sun Online.

“I wasn’t a big Twitterer before the show, I’m more of a Facebook girl, but as I came on the show, I got so much support and so much love.

“I just think it’s now to how many people really support you, on the social and online it all adds up.”

She also admitted that being hit with a nasty cold that she caught from her fellow contestants also took a toll on her chances of getting through.

“Being ill impacted a lot, I reckon last night’s performance could have been so much better if I didn’t have a cold.

“There was a lot of big notes in that song that I really wanted to get out but my body physically wouldn’t let me and it was really frustrating for me to go through the sing off yesterday.”

The singer was eliminated from the hit ITV show after a sing-off with Four Of Diamonds.

After losing her place in the competition, Relley said: “From the start I said if can make it to the first live show I’d be happy.

“I could have done with a bit more time but I’m happy I got this far.”

Relley’s mentor Sharon Osbourne added: “She’s a strong girl and she’s a fighter.”
