'NATURE PLAYED A TRICK ON ME'

We remember the best bits of Pete Burns on Celebrity Big Brother

From clashing with Jodie Marsh to bringing in a gorilla skin coat - the star certainly left a lasting impression!

PETE Burns became a Celebrity Big Brother icon when he walked into the Elstree compound in 2006.

In just a few short weeks, he developed a legacy that would see him return to give his one-of-a-kind commentary on Big Brother's Little Brother, and later Big Brother's Bit on the Side.

The 80s icon, who died on Sunday after a massive cardiac arrest, was remembered fondly by the housemates before and after his appearance on the show, cementing him in the reality show legacy forever.

We remember the defining moments of Pete on the show and what made him such a memorable housemate.

Pete's One-Liners

Pete was known to be blunt, but there are certain things you would have to hear to believe.

Big Brother's Little Brother managed to gather the star's best one liners on all things in the house, and presented them to the star on their exit from the show.

In one moment, as he tends to a plant he's named B*****d, he stated: "You can take a horticulture, but you can't make her think".

Speaking to Dennis Rodman, Pete referred to his androgyny by quipping: "Nature played a trick on me, nature put a big old d*** on me."

But in the most poignant moment, Pete announced he would take his showmanship beyond the grave as he said to their housemates: "I actually hope that when I'm dead somebody stuffs me and puts me in their living room."

George and Pete's Interpretive Dance

Noone could've seen this bizarre union of a punk rock popstar and a former MP - yet that's exactly what viewers got when Pete formed an unlikely alliance with George Galloway. In one task, the pair were tasked to don leotards and tell the story of an owner losing his dog - through the power of interpretive dance. What happened next stayed burned in our minds forever.

Gorilla-Gate

Pete divided housemates when it was discovered that his beloved black and white fur coat was allegedly made of gorilla.

Jodie Marsh, who Pete frequently clashed with during their time in the house, branded the item "disgusting" and lead the way to get the coat removed from the premises.

Big Brother eventually confiscated the coat due to public demans, removing it from Pete's possession during a time when his suitcase was packed and given to the team.

When he discovered it was missing, he went straight to the diary room and hit the roof - before finding out the police had forcibly removed it, leaving him in fits of giggles and saying: "My coat's been arrested?!"

Pete vs Jodie Marsh

Jodie and Pete never made a secret of their dislike of each other during their time on Celebrity Big Brother - and it made compelling viewing.

Speaking to Dennis Rodman and Preston among other members of the house, Pete brands Jodie an 'imbecile' and said: "There's nothing wrong with an imbecile, an imbecile can be fundamentally good person. It just means that they don't know what they're doing. Like giving a baby a loaded gun."

Pete and Rylan Duet

In his last appearance on Big Brother's Bit on the Side, Rylan Clark-Neal had his dream come true after Pete did a rare performance of his hit single You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) - and allowed the X Factor reject to join in. Sadly, despite the pair getting on like a house on fire, Pete would never return to the BOTS set.
