X Factor’s Rylan Clark-Neal says he will present show again next year… for £2 million
Rylan hosts The X Factor spin off with Matt Edmondson
RYLAN Clark-Neal landed his dream job hosting The Xtra Factor with Matt Edmondson but has teased he’ll only return next year if the price is right.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Rylan – who also hosts Big Brother’s Bit On The Side – admitted he viewed the job as a “one year thing” but could be persuaded to stay if Simon Cowell threw enough money at him.
When quizzed if they’ll be back on the ITV talent show next year, Rylan said: “Nah, we don’t care. We’ve got other jobs!”
Matt, whose wife Bryony Emmet recently welcomed a baby girl – agreed saying: “You can’t look too far into the future unless you’re Russell Grant or Mystic Meg.”
Rylan, 28, explained that he didn’t view the job as a long-term gig as he’s also busy with his showbiz roundup on This Morning, as well as Big Brother and other projects.
He explained: “Personally when I signed up to do Xtra Factor I looked at it as a one year thing. We’ve both got our other jobs that we love and always will have hopefully.
“But we’ve both been looking at this as just a one season thing so wanted to enjoy it and take it for what it is and if we are going to go out we want to go out on a high.”
Matt added: “We have no say in the matter.”
However, never one to say no to a big was of cash, Rylan joked: “If they offer us a couple million then fuck it!”
Simon might have to offer Rylan quite a hefty pay cheque to stay on after Rylan joked about suing him after he made a gay jibe live on air.
Viewers were shocked last weekend when Relley C was sent home and Rylan admits it’s tough seeing talented people go home every week.
When asked if they were surprised at who is still in the competition, Rylan joked: “I’m surprised Louis is still standing after all of those drinks!”
Matt continued: “I’m sad that Freddy left. On a personal level he was such a nice guy, and I think it’s hard going week 2 because it’s really difficult.
“I think Bratavio knew what they wanted to get out of the show and I think they got what they wanted out of it and they are going to go on and do lots of other stuff and Freddy will go on to be amazing but I just felt like there was so much more to see from him.
“It’s hard every week, we see them go and it’s actually genuinely emotional. One thing I dislike about the show is having to do that bit where we talk to them after they’ve been kicked off the show.”
