Inside Maya Jama and Stormzy reunion where they snogged backstage at MTV VMAs before flying home together
THEY confirmed their romance was back on with a very cosy appearance at the GQ Awards – even if her reps were desperate to play it down.
But I can now reveal exactly where Stormzy and Maya Jama’s rekindled romance began.
Insiders said they saw the pair kissing in an extra special VIP area at the MTV European Music Awards in Dusseldorf, Germany, days before the GQ bash in West London, though they had been growing close again for weeks.
And new Love Island host Maya later changed her hotel to be closer to the Vossi Bop rapper.
One source said: “Maya and Stormzy hooked up at one of the exclusive areas at the bash.
“There were three levels of VIP area and they were in the top tier one. They were seen kissing and seemed totally into each other.

“There was a strict no-camera policy which is why they seemed happy to be so open with their relationship.”
A second insider told me how the couple, who split in 2019 following a four-year relationship, also returned to the UK together after missing the flights they were supposed to be on.
They added: “Maya changed her hotels at the awards and now it seems obvious it was because she wanted to be closer to Stormzy.
“Following the show they ended up changing flights and coming back to the UK at the same time. They seemed very much in love when the spotlight was off them.”
Stormzy and Maya were flirty with each other at the GQ Men Of The Year after-party at Pavilion members’ club in Knightsbridge.
I watched as they gave each other eyes across the room.
He has made no secret of his feelings for Maya, having called the Love Island host “the greatest love I ever knew”.
Stormzy said in the past: “I’d never experienced a break-up and the feelings that come with a break-up.
“And I never wanted to ever be in a position again where I felt what I was feeling. Because it showed me that I was a boy. And I do not want to go any further as a boy.”
His feelings for her are obviously still alive and well.
One El of a final night
SIR ELTON JOHN took one giant Lipa for celebrity-kind as he performed the final North American show of his farewell tour along with special guest Dua.
Elton, who played at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in a jewelled suit, was joined by Dua for a performance of their No1 single Cold Heart.
He also duetted with Brandi Carlile and Kiki Dee.
Other famous faces soaking up the atmosphere included Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, model Heidi Klum, actress Jenna Dewan, Taron Egerton, who played Elton in his biopic Rocketman and Dita Von Teese.
The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which started in 2018, is scheduled to end in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 8, next year.
On the prospect of more shows, his husband and manager David Furnish said: “ I hope so! It’s in his blood. He will not be touring in any capacity. What you’re going to see is the possibility of a one-off or a small residency.”
Burna Boy blazes trail
NIGERIAN singer Burna Boy is to become the first ever African artist to headline a UK stadium.
The musician, who has collaborated with artists Dave, Ed Sheeran and Jorja Smith, will top the bill at the London Stadium on June 3 next year.
He said: “London Stadium is going to be my fairground.
“I’ve been told I couldn’t achieve anything because of where I came from. I hope this can show people that when you have a dream it doesn’t matter where you’ve come from, your dream can come true.”
Jools: Parties less wild
HE’S hung out with some of the biggest bands in the world but Jools Holland has revealed no one parties harder than The Ramones.
The pianist and presenter said: “We went to New York and played in a place called the CBGB club and the Ramones were there.
“We went to this pub and it made (Ancient) Rome look mild in comparison. There were rooms where there was really out-there stuff going on. It was all sex, drugs, rock and roll. It’s not quite like it was then.
“Some people aren’t robust enough to stand some of the stuff that comes with (the lifestyle). I’m a survivor of it.”
Jools added at the launch of Specsavers’ Lost and Found campaign: “I don’t stay up any more like I used to. But the energy on stage is the same as it used to be.”
Adele’s divorce merch
I’VE seen some weird merchandise at gigs over the years but Adele really takes the biscuit.
The Someone Like You singer is flogging necklaces at her Las Vegas residency which have beads which say “divorced” in big gold letters.
Staying on theme, she also offers the more uplifting “Married” and “Hello” options.
Adele recently admitted she thought telling of her own divorce from her husband Simon Konecki over Easter 2019 would help it “get buried” in other news.
She said: “We had to announce as people started noticing we weren’t together and I didn’t want it to look dodgy, because it wasn’t.
“And we thought that sort of announcing it on Good Friday that it would get buried in Easter news, but obviously, it blew up.”
Lewis mini gig for radio
COMEBACK kid Lewis Capaldi will perform one of his most intimate gigs ever next month.
The Forget Me singer will play BBC’s 550-capacity Radio Theatre in central London’s Broadcasting House on December 8 for a Radio 2 special.
The mini gig will be a dry run for Lewis before he kicks off his UK arena tour early next year.
Tickets are available via a ballot from now until midnight on Thursday, with the gig being broadcast on December 15.
Tickets to Lewis’s Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent Tour were sold out in just one minute last month.
Sam: I have to get naked
SAM SMITH is the most confident they have ever been and feels “stunning” after overcoming years of body image issues.
The Unholy singer said it has been a tough journey but that forcing themselves to strip off as much as possible has worked wonders.
Sam said: “I’ve been really comfortable with my body now for quite a few years.
“I had to force myself to get naked more. I had to take my top off when I was going to the swimming pool or in the sea but also take my top off probably in situations where people around me were like, ‘Put your top on. Why’s it off? Why are you naked all the time?’.
“It’s trickery as well. Looking in the mirror, even when you feel ugly or big, and saying, ‘You are delicious, you are gorgeous’, all of that. There’s a fake it till you make it kind of vibe to it, but it does work if you persist.”
They added: “The commitment to that has changed my life.
“Now I’ve probably got the opposite of body dysmorphia. I just think I look stunning all the time.”
It is a stark contrast from earlier in the musician’s career, when Sam was targeted by fat-shaming comments.
They added on MIichelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast: “I was just outright called fat from people when I first started.
“At the time I was being all sassy like, ‘I don’t care’, but it did affect me.
“I’ve always had body issues, I just found it so hard to take my top off around the swimming pool and I love swimming and love being in the sea. But I always used to find it so hard.”

The Boyzone singer, who was joined by his wife Storm, has been working to raise money for cancer research since his mum Marie died of breast cancer in 1998 aged 51.
He said: “Storm and I are blown away by the support we’ve had for this event and we want to say a huge thank you.”
