Coronation Street SPOILER – Samia Longchambon says Caz lands Maria in trouble with the police
Maria arrives back in Weatherfield on Halloween, but the scariest thing that awaits her has nothing to do with ghosts and ghouls: her flat has been trashed, there’s blood splattered on the wall and Caz is nowhere to be seen.
“At first Maria thinks the mess is a prank because it’s Halloween,” says Samia Longchambon, who plays the frightened mum. “She rings Kirk and accuses him of being behind it as a joke, but then she realises he isn’t.”
While Maria becomes convinced that Caz is responsible, Kate receives a message from her terrified-sounding ex-fiancée, claiming Maria has locked her in the bathroom and she’s scared she’s going to kill her. Kate then spots the blood on the wall at Maria’s flat and decides to call the cops.
“When the police arrive, Maria knows Caz has done this,” explains Samia.
“She knows that Caz is a little crazy, but I don’t think she realises the full extent of it. She is mortified to be accused of being involved in Caz’s disappearance because she knows she has done nothing wrong.”
It doesn’t help her cause when Tyrone and Fiz discover a blood-stained rug in their wheelie bin and go to the police with their findings.
“It was Maria’s rug, but Caz has planted that on purpose too… she is so clever!” laughs Samia.
“Then all the stuff in Maria’s past about stalking Tyrone comes out too, and while she explains she was in a bad place back then, the police are not buying it.
“It’s going to get a lot worse too – more than Maria could ever imagine.”
Meanwhile...
Sharif's affair is exposed
So far, only Alya knows about her grandad’s affair with Sonia, but Zeedan begins to smell a rat when he notices that Sharif has moved £14,000 from the gym’s finances into his own personal account.
Sharif claims it’s just a private loan that he is paying back, but Yasmeen hears everything and is suspicious. Later, Zeedan tells Rana how much he misses his mum and dad, and in an emotional moment, pops the question.
She happily accepts, and a thrilled Yasmeen sets about organising an engagement party for the couple.
Her joy is short-lived, however, when she hears Sharif telling Sonia it’s time they called it a day. Devastated, she blames herself for him cheating, and even invites Sonia to Zeedan’s celebration.
But with the bash in full swing, Yasmeen’s anger boils over and she outs her husband’s affair to the shocked revellers – can Sharif talk his way out of this mess?
Gary consoles David
David’s understandably been feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders since the car crash that left Anna badly burnt. But while he blames himself, Gary certainly doesn’t – and when Bethany invites Gary to a bonfire at No.8, he assures David that he knows it was an accident.
Yet the hairdresser continues to hate himself, and he’s not the only Weatherfield resident struggling to come to terms with the events of that fateful night.
Over at the hospital, Anna finally regains consciousness, but is horrified when she sees the extent of her burns.
Determined not to be a burden, she decides the only way she can free Kevin from having to care for her is by claiming she no longer loves him and that their relationship is over.
How will Kevin react to her devastating bombshell – and can he see that what Anna’s saying might not exactly be what she’s feeling?
