Hardman Vinnie Jones swaps the bright lights of Hollywood to sell carpets with childhood pal

HOLLYWOOD hardman Vinnie Jones has swapped the red carpet for flooring after going into the carpet business.

The Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star, 51, has launched a firm specialising in supplying celebrities.

Ex-footballer Vinnie and childhood pal and experienced fitter Danny Deacon have set up ­Deacon Jones — which already counts film star Bradley Cooper and pop’s Robbie Williams among its customers.

It has also provided carpets for TV’s Jonathan Ross, Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, ex-Arsenal star Ian Wright and cricket’s Kevin Pietersen.

Businessman Tony Broadhead is a third partner in the firm, which is based on an industrial estate in Hemel Hempstead, Herts.

One-time bricklayer Vinnie — who was born in nearby Watford — said his role would be in helping to sell the carpets.

He added: “We have super tough carpets and that’s where we will use my hardman image.

“I’m very proud of my roots and I want to show that. It’s important to me to create jobs in the area. I want to give back to the community I came from.”

Ex-Wimbledon and Chelsea star Vinnie switched to films after landing a role in 1998’s Lock, Stock.
