Some viewers were just happy he was back their screens however.

Posting the snap on Twitter with the hashtag #memories, the contestants all beamed as Selasi held the adorable Val Stones in his arms.

Viewers who follow the wannabe baker on Twitter have kept up to date with the stars elaborate feasts for his friends and family so they can all watch the show.

But for the finale, he decided to lay off the cooking for the evening – and ordered in a staggering MOUNTAIN of pizzas so he can relax.

As it turned out, the rest of the guests included his fellow contestants, who partied the night away with champagne after a successful year on the show.

In a video posted to Selasi’s Twitter page, the group cheered to the cameras as the winner was announced as Candice.

It was revealed at the end of tonight’s show that Selasi is now planning a European roadtrip on his motorbike.

True to style, his end card said he was “feeling pretty relaxed about it”.

The star baker wrote herself into the Bake Off history books by becoming the last winner before the show switches to Channel 4.

The lipstick-wearing baker made a meringue, Victoria Sandwich and a showstopping picnic basket made up of 49 different elements to take the win.

The teacher, who experts predict will make £1million in endorsements in the next year, now wants to use her newfound fame to open a tea shop.

She said: “I love baking and this has increased my love of baking.

“Let’s wait and see what will come my way but I will be grabbing it with both hands and running with it, that’s for sure. It would be crazy not to, wouldn’t it?”

It was revealed that the following their close bond on the show, Jane and Candice would be heading off on a baking road trip together, leaving some fans wanting a spin-off show based on their adventures.
