Adele reveals struggle with post-natal depression and feeling ‘inadequate’ after birth of son Angelo
ADELE has revealed she struggled with post-natal depression after giving birth to son Angelo.
The Hello singer is notoriously private, especially when it comes to her child, who she welcomed with partner Simon Konecki in October 2012.
But in a new interview with , the 28-year-old opened up about her life long battle with depression, and how it took hold soon after her little boy was born.
She said: "I had really bad postpartum depression after I had my son, and it frightened me.
"My knowledge of postpartum—or post-natal, as we call it in England—is that you don’t want to be with your child; you’re worried you might hurt your child; you’re worried you weren’t doing a good job.
"But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life . . . . It can come in many different forms."

Adele - who looks stunning on the magazine's cover as well as the accompanying spread - overcame it by giving herself an afternoon a week to do whatever she wanted without Angelo, but added to the outlet that depression is something she will always battle, having first suffered from it as a child.

She added: "I have a very dark side. I'm very available to depression.
"I can slip in and out of it quite easily. It started when my granddad died, when I was about 10, and while I never had a suicidal thought, I have been in therapy, lots."
But with a successful world tour currently in progress, and three smash hit albums under her belt, Adele can appreciate the good things in her life now.
However, Angelo, now four, is still the centre of her universe - with her work and private schedule's revolving around him - but in a healthy way this time.
She said: "I don't mind, because of the love I feel for him.
"I don't care if I don't ever get to do anything for myself again."
