MEAT Loaf has reassured This Morning hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford he's "tired" but "OK" after fans shared their concerns over his "stuttered speech" on the show.
The iconic singer, 69, appeared on the daytime chat show to discuss his recent back surgery and his worrying fall on stage.
The star shocked fans when he fell on stage in Canada just months ago, due to severe dehydration.
The star insisted his recent back surgery wasn't connected to his stage fall in any way, and admitted it was his wife who persuaded him to perform, despite him suffering with flu at the time.
“All of a sudden I started feeling dizzy," he said of the concert. "I thought ‘I don’t want to fall, so I’m just going to sit down’. As I was going down, I just went out. It was from dehydration.”
Meat Loaf added: "Then four weeks ago I had spinal fusion surgery. We knew we had a nerve problem, but doctors then saw he had to put some screws and nuts in there."
Asked how he's doing now, he told the hosts: "I’m a little tired from doing this trip, but I’m OK."
But while he insisted he's recovered since, viewers were quick to share their worries today over his "slower" speech on Twitter, with many saying he seemed exhausted.
One viewer tweeted: "Is very obviously not well, clear speech struggles so desperately sad to see."
While another added: "#MeatLoaf looks frail and slurring his words, hope he's ok what a living legend."
And one wrote: "Meatloaf looks so ill. What's with the slurring?"
But many more were quick to defend him, with one writing: "Do people realise Meat Loaf is almost 70? And still performing? Stop being such critical a***holes."
And one wrote: "Meatloaf on #ThisMorning is brilliant!"
While another added: "Oh i love meatloaf what an absolute trooper still awesome as ever."
The Bat Out Of Hell singer recently opened up about having emergency back surgery.
He admitted: "I'm just ready to sit down because four weeks ago I had spinal fusion. There was a cyst which was pinching nerves so I had emergency back surgery."
The Sun Online has contacted Meat Loaf's reps for comment.
