Fears former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook’s nose is collapsing again after snaps emerge of mystery dressing on top lip
Two years after a 4-month relapse, troubled TV star is spotted out wearing bandages under her nose
TROUBLED TV actress Danniella Westbrook was at the centre of a riddle last night after being pictured wearing a bandage — sparking fears her nose has collapsed again.
The former EastEnders star, who once snorted so much cocaine her septum caved in, was spotted with the dressing on her face earlier last week.
Other snaps on the mum of two’s social media sites in the last few days show her repeatedly hiding her nose from the camera.
A source close to Danniella, 43 yesterday, said: “She insists she is not back on drugs and has been suffering from septicaemia.
“But pals are still very worried. She has been in a bad way for a few months, and has been telling them that she’s mentally ‘f***ed’.

“She has also been throwing around a lot of accusations about those around her, and her behaviour has at points been very strange and eccentric.
“Questions have also been asked about her nose. Some people suspect it has collapsed again.”
Last night a spokeswoman insisted: “Danniella has been in hospital on and off for the last four weeks with septicaemia, caused by her teeth.
“Steel rods going into her gum have caused an infection and therefore she is wearing a plaster with a sponge in her nose to stop the infection spreading.”
But NHS consultant Dr Ron Daniels, who founded The UK Sepsis Trust, said the method would be an “odd” way of treating a dental infection.
And he added she could be being treated for a nose collapse as cocaine and septicaemia cause almost exactly the same damage.
He explained: “Infection from a dental implant, which is likely to be related to Danniella’s cocaine abuse, might be treated by draining between the lip and gum.
“This would not be visible, but might need an external dressing.
“She could also have a ribbon-type dressing soaked in antibiotic with the little dressing she is wearing there to cover the end of it. But this would be an odd way to drain a deep dental infection.”
Our pictures come two years after Danniella tearfully admitted a relapse and vowed to quit for good. Earlier this year she appeared to confess on Twitter to another relapse but then blamed the messages on hackers.
Snort would spoil repairs
By Dr Julian De Silva, Britain's top facial plastic surgeon
COCAINE use after reconstruction of the septum would speed up a second collapse.
Most of the nose is made up of delicate cartilage and skin.
Repairing this is very complex and often requires multiple procedures.
This also means that if the patient takes cocaine again, as Danniella Westbrook has admitted doing, the cartilage will start collapsing faster than before.
The repair will deteriorate every time more is taken.
