Charlotte, 32, revealed to her heartbroken fans last year that her mum had been diagnosed with the disease.

Letitia, 53, was given her breast cancer diagnosis last year as a routine procedure – and has been undergoing chemotherapy.

Opening up about finding out about the diagnosis, Charlotte was seen breaking down in tears on Instagram.

In a preview clip from her new BBC Three show Charlotte In Sunderland, the TV star sobbed as she spoke to friends.

"Oh, don't cry," Charlotte's pal could be heard telling her as she placed her hand over her face and began to sob.

"She's got breast cancer, Lauren," Charlotte went on before leaning in for a hug with her friend. "She's a mess.

"It's hit us like a tonne of bricks. She only went for a routine mammogram, there were no signs and no symptoms.

"The diagnosis has been a massive shock," she told the camera.

Last August, Letitia revealed that the mammogram had "saved her life" as she had no cancer symptoms when the disease was discovered.

She said: "I no symptoms, no lumps, nothing. The mammogram has helped save my life.

"They should be inviting women of all ages to one every single year. Not just women over 50.”

Charlotte, along with dad, Gary, 54, and brother Nathaniel, 17, rallied around Letitia in the days which followed the diagnosis.

Letitia underwent a series of painful biopsies and scans on the 11 millimetre tumour in her breast.

Incredibly, Charlotte discovered a lump just days after Letitia’s diagnosis – but it was confirmed to be "nothing bad".

It comes after Charlotte was spotted looking dramatically different after ditching her lashes and lip filler.

She drastically changed up her look after she gave birth to her first tot with partner Jake Ankers in October, after sharing with fans that she was having a caesarian section.
