Vogue Williams blames Brian McFadden for her crippling anxiety after stressful divorce
VOGUE Williams has revealed her divorce from ex-husband Brian McFadden gave her crippling anxiety.
The 37-year-old still suffers from the disorder following her split in 2017.
Vogue – who is now happily married to Spencer Matthews – opened up about her anxiety battle on her husband’s Big Fish podcast.
“Going through a marriage break-up was definitely was the driver,” Vogue said.
“It really threw me. I went through a really bad time after that and it kind of went from there.
“I’ve found really good ways to manage it, but someone said to me ‘you’ll never get rid of it, but you’ll find ways to manage it’.
“Once I got it really bad and I wouldn’t be able to get to sleep until 1am and then I’d be awake at 3am and not get back to sleep. You’re anxious that you haven’t slept so it carries your anxiety into the next day.
“I went on tablets for it. I didn’t want to do it because I was really embarrassed about it. They’re not for everyone, but that really helped me.
“Mine were real physical symptoms – clenched hands, grind teeth, I’d feel sick to my stomach and not be able to sleep.
“Taking the meds meant my heart wasn’t racing so bad and so you could focus on what the issue actually is. I started seeing a therapist and did lots of exercise in between and now I’m in a good spot with it.”
Vogue met Brian – who used to be married to Kerry Katona – in May 2011.
Shortly afterwards she moved from Ireland to Australia to live with him while he worked as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent.
Brian popped the question eight months later and they married in Tuscany in September 2012.
After moving back to Ireland three years later, they announced their split.
Vogue met ex-Made in Chelsea star Spencer on Channel 4’s The Jump. They now have three children together.
